| | Weather Moving Out, Curve Back in TownMay 19, 2011 - Altoona CurveThe last three springs, we've had our share of wet, cool weather in the region. That includes this maddening front that hasn't moved for about 10 days! We've had our share of April and May games affected by the weather. It's to the point where fans have joked with exasperation: "It's raining, the Curve must be in town!" (We will remind the Curve have not had a home game the last four days and it has still rained.) However, that's all about to change. The front is supposed to move out tomorrow morning and we'll see that orange ball in the sky a bit more this weekend and into next week. Just in time for the Curve homestand! The Curve will host Akron from Friday-Sunday. The two teams are tied for first-place in the Eastern League's Western Division. We have a new logo poster giveaway on Friday, fireworks follow the doubleheader on Saturday thanks to US Foodservice, and kids will play free all day in the Galliker's Fun Zone and Weis Playland on Sunday compliments of Butler Restoration Services. Kids can also take part in our Youth Baseball Clinic with Curve players from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the clinic is free with a ticket to the game that afternoon. Then, Monday-Thursday, the Bowie Baysox come to town for their first visit with Mirror Monday savings on tickets, Two-for-Tuesday deals on tickets, hot dogs, and popcorn, and back-to-back School Kids' Days on Wednesday and Thursday. The Ponderosa Four-Pack Wednesday and Thirsty Thursday specials will also be available for the 10:30 a.m. starts on those days. Should be a great week at the ballpark and the weather is *supposed* to match! Make your way to Curve, PA! Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | EZToUse.com |
