PSU's Redd should play; Bradley debunks rumors of pro job

Penn State running back Silas Redd is expected to play Saturday at Ohio State after suffering a collarbone injury last week against Nebraska.

"I think come Saturday he will be suited up and ready for combat," Redd's father, Silas Sr., said Thursday night by phone.

Assistant coach Dick Anderson confirmed Redd's status on the "Penn State Football Show" on the radio, saying, "Silas Redd I think will be ready to go. He's practiced during the week."

Interim head coach Tom Bradley said Tuesday he did not expect Redd to have any contact in practice this week.

SUBHD: No pro talk

Bradley, asked on the radio about the subject, refuted rumors that he has been in contact with NFL teams about a job.

"I have to get a chuckle out of some of these rumors," Bradley said. "No, there's no pro teams."

SUBHD: Media treatment

Bradley has had to field some difficult questions from the media since taking over for Joe Paterno, but he said he has been treated fairly.

"I think they've asked fair questions," he said of the media.

"The questions have been just, they've been to the point, most of them, and I've answered them the best I can."

SUBHD: Changing allegiances

Bradley has been a defensive coach for so long, so his primary concern has been trying to shut down a quarterback. Now he's having to pick a starting quarterback -- he is going with Matt McGloin -- and joked about how it's different for him.

"I'm not a fan of quarterbacks. Now I am," he said.
