| | Officially, this game got out of handNovember 23, 2011 - Neil RudelI read Philip Cmor's account of the Moshannan Valley-Penns Manor playoff game -- 32 penalties, five ejections -- and concluded that both schools and their coaches ought to be embarrassed. Check out the link at the right. The coaches, though, aren't the only ones to blame. Put the officials on the list, too. When officials see an emotionally-charged game is getting too chippy, bringing late hits and penalties, it's their responsibility to keep it under control. I thought of our old friend Ron Rickens, and what he would do: He'd talk to the teams and he would have brought both coaches to midfield, if necessary, to get the message across.

They had four players ejected, a coach, a cheerleader sent to the bus, a ball boy completely out of control. PM had a kid ejected after he got his helmet ripped off and called some racial slurs. The officials did call the players together during the third period. Mo Valley got an unsportsmanlike penalty when their teammate was on the ground being seen by a doctor...what kind of kid says something to the official when your teammate is in pain on the field. Mo Valley head coach has had a hard season but it doesn't exempt blame from the assistants, athletic director, principal and the players...I wonder how the players parents feel when seeing their child act with blatant disregard for authority. They shouldn't be allowed to go to the playoffs in any other sports this year. They were the embarrassment not PM or the officials ALTTODDNov-23-11 2:39 PM Yea, Rickens was always sticking his nose into a situation where it didn't belong. NOTHING in the rules permits him to have these meetings. And besides at this point in the playoffs all the officials are "hand-picked" by the big wigs (Rickens is probably still assigning them from the grave.) Teddy, Brucie, ???? who was it ??? Name names.
